Lalima isn’t shy. With its confident red florals, bold pallu blocks, and a balanced play of prints and textures, this saree stands tall, just like the women who wear it. Crafted by hand in the Bardhaman district of West Bengal, this pure Khadi cotton saree is spun on traditional charkhas using 100-count yarn for the warp and 56-count for the weft, giving it a fine, breathable texture that’s light on the skin yet strong in structure.
The surface is brought to life with delicate block prints from Sanganer, applied through a discharge printing technique that gently lifts colour to reveal vibrant, lasting motifs. After being steamed and washed through an intensive process, the saree develops a soft, supple drape, one that feels lived in, yet endlessly graceful.
At 5.5 meters long and 46 inches wide, Lalima does not come with a blouse piece, inviting you to mix, match, and make it your own. Each print variation, tiny smudge, or texture shift is a marker of its handmade soul, no two pieces are ever identical, and that’s the beauty of it.
