Woven with a 150-count warp and a 200-count handspun weft, this madder-dyed saree brings together a warm ground and the cooler presence of indigo. On the pallu, the Yali’s body is rendered in indigo thread, its mane worked in golden zari. Supplementary extra-weft technique draws these details into the weave, preserving the creature’s expressive form. As the pallu falls and folds, the gold catches the light against the red.
