Neel Keshar Yali Jamdani Saree

The first thing you notice may be the blue, then the light finds the mane.

Against the blue ground, the Yali takes shape in indigo thread, its lion-like body crowned with a golden zari mane. Woven through supplementary extra-weft technique, the motif translates the presence of a sculpted guardian into the softness of cloth. An arrow-patterned border gives the saree a directional rhythm, accompanied by fine silver zari lines. The warmth of the mane and the cooler glimmer of the border give the blue its quiet richness.
