Wearing evergreen and timeless garments that resonate with my personal style is slow fashion for me. Every yarn that touches the skilful hands of the creator goes through the most natural and ethical way of production before it translates in a piece of art- that is slow fashion for me. It is truly a form of
art that can be exquisite or something that takes the shape of everyday attire in its most earthy and rustic form. Handloom will always rank on the top of my list of slow fashion. There is beauty in its imperfections. I find the process of creating the handcrafted and handlooms as beautiful as the end product. The process is pure labour of love which may take weeks, months and sometimes years to finish. It’s the stories of the bygone era woven in the Sarees/garments that make me feel closer to my roots and culture hence I always wear them with pride. When such timeless garments become a conversation starter, my heart swells with joy. I want to have a lifetime commitment with my hand crafted clothes by wearing them often to be termed as slow fashion.
